Pomegranate-Cardamom Mocktail

Not too sweet and very refreshing. If you are looking for an alternative to syrupy-sweet mocktails that go down like juice, then give this a try. I give pretty detailed, step-by-step instructions that might make this seem complicated, but if you are in a rush, you could make this pretty quickly and it’ll still taste great.

You’ll need:
A pretty pitcher
1/4 cup warm water
5-6 green cardamom pods, crushed, or 2 teaspoons ground cardamom

a 1L bottle of sparkling water, I love the lime flavored one.
1 pink grapefruit, washed

2-3 tablespoons pomegranate molasses (you can find this in middle-eastern shops) if you can’t locate any, use 1/2 cup undiluted pomegranate juice.

To do;
Soak the cardamom in the warm water for 5-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, thinly slice the grapefruit, you’ll want about 3-4 slices depending on the size of your pitcher. Place the slices in pitcher.

Strain out the cardamom using small fine-mesh strainer (cover with cheesecloth if using the ground spice) and add the pomegranate molasses to the water, stir until completely dissolved.

Finally, pour the sparkling water, and the cardamom-spiced water mix over the grapefruit slices and serve .

Enjoy!

  • Oh this does sound super refreshing. I love cardamon! I’ll have to try it! I make a mean cardamon and apricot mule and must adapt it to ‘mocktail’ form.
